I have had a pretty healthy addiction to Daughter since I first stumbled upon their music a few months ago. This song in particular hit me hard when I heard the line: “You’re too old to be so shy.” I have actually been told that before. I’ve had family members tell me that I shouldn’t be so shy or quiet because I am an adult now and it isn’t how adults act. Little do they understand, I am quiet because I prefer to listen and only share my opinions if I feel it is a worth while time. And I am shy because of the social anxiety, I am not comfortable around new or large groups of people. But they don’t need to know that.
